RALPH, ALBERT & SYDNEY CATHERINE HOWE, songwriter and performer, recorded her early albums in the 70s: What a Beautiful Place for Reflection, an
independent record company, in 1971 She worked with producers Bobby Scott (composer of Taste of Honey and He Ain't Heavy); Del Newman and Pip Williams. Mike Batt produced a single. The song Harry received an Ivor Novello Award in 1974, and her early catalogue is published through Carlin Music. Catherine appeared in such diverse TV programmes as The Old Grey Whistle Test and Top of the Pops, Pebblemill at One and That's Life. Recently Catherine has been putting the finishing touches to a new recording Princelet Street, an album of fourteen new songs. The title comes from the Spitalfields street of the same name. It was released on January 23rd, 2006. Recording the album has seen Catherine working with guitarist and producer Kevin Healy, whom she has known since her recording and touring days of the 70s.
